Orient Land Trust is a nonprofit Colorado land trust dedicated to the preservation of natural resources, wildlife habitat, open space, and historic and geologic features of the northern San Luis Valley for the enjoyment of current and future generations. 100% of unrestricted donations go towards open space and land conservation.

Features of the lands protected by Orient Land Trust include a large bat colony, hot springs, alternative energy use, high altitude dark skies for astronomy, exposed active geological fault, limestone caves, numerous trails into a wilderness area, historic buildings, town sites at an abandoned iron mine and a working ranch.

Visitors to Orient Land Trust experience these features in a naturist (clothing-optional) setting and may camp or stay in rustic lodging. The number of visitors is limited based on space available and environmental impact.

Looking northwest from Valley View, the evening brings moody sunset clouds and light but no rain.
Why our fire ban? We have had only two days of precipitation in 3 1/2 months!

Both overnight stays and day visits are subject to quotas to protect the land and to help provide
a positive visitor experience for everyone... Don't get turned away because we are full!
*** Ongoing... Complete FIRE BAN in the campground due to very dry conditions and high winds ***

Reminder - New Dates for Member Appreciation Weekend
The annual OLT Member Appreciation Weekend has been rescheduled to August 15th-17th, 2008.
Reservations are required and can be made up to 3 months in advance depending on your OLT membership level.
